Jewish Lifecycle

Jewish Lifecycle for Victorious Living

1.  Birth and Naming Ceremonies

Start your Baby out on a course of Healing, Health and Prosperity as soon as they enter this world by presenting your new baby to Jesus on the first Sabbath after a Hebrew or Christian child is born, the infant's father is called forward at the Synagogue or Church to read from the Child’s Birth Torah Portion and ask blessings for the health of Mother and Child. If the Child is a girl, she is named at this time. Boys will be named on the eighth day after birth, as part of the rite of circumcision.

2.  Brit Milah: Circumcision

The rite of circumcision (brit milah) is performed on the eighth day of a boy's life as Jesus did in Luke 2:21. (There is no parallel practice for girls, and "female circumcision" is abuse and has nothing to do with the faith of Israel as taught by Jesus and His Disciples.)

3.  Redemption of the Firstborn

The ritual of Pidyon Ha-Ben ("Redemption of the Son") is grounded in the Hebrew concept that first and best things belong to God. In Numbers 8:17, God declares: "Every firstborn among the Israelites, man as well as beast, is mine."

4.  Coming of Age: Bar and Bat Mitzvah

According to the faith of Israel, children are not required to observe the commandments, though they are certainly encouraged and taught to do so—beginning the biblical education at age 5. But upon turning 13, a boy is considered an adult according to the Torah and is expected to obey all the commandments from then on. He has become a Bar Mitzvah, or "Son of the Commandments." Similarly, a girl becomes a Bat Mitzvah, "daughter of the commandment," upon turning 12.   This is a principle for growing up spiritually as well as naturally.

5.  Confirmation

Our Father Abraham was chosen by God because God knew that Abraham would “Teach his Children the ways of the Lord.” Confirmation is the process of learning the Torah for Life and the Testimony of Jesus that takes all the lessons learned during the Young Adults Bar and Bat Mitzvah process and combines them with principles of Social Justice and Community Activism as the Sudents’ progress toward their fast approaching entrance in University Systems.  Confirmation is a program that reinforces the lifestyle of Jesus Christ and lays the foundation for our next generation of Leaders.

6.  Hebrew Marriage Traditions

Marriage is highly revered and strongly encouraged in the House of Israel. The celibate life has never been considered more holy than the married life, and one must be married in order to become a Rabbi. Israel's high view of marriage is a direct result of its view of the home and family as the center of religious life.

7.  Death Rituals and the Chevra Kaddisha

While the preservation of life in the faith of Israel is of paramount importance, taking precedence over nearly all other priorities and observances, death is not therefore abhorred or devalued. Instead, death is seen as a part of life and a part of God's plan. The extensive mourning rituals in the faith of Israel do not indicate a rejection or protest of death, but demonstrate the great value Israel places on life in general and the life of each individual person.  In the Hebraic mindset—those who have gone on before us are not dead—but alive and awaiting the joyous reunion that Grace affords.

8.  Mourning

Mourning in the House of Israel is extensive, and has several purposes: it shows respect for the dead, comforts those left behind, discourages excessive mourning, and helps the bereaved to return to normal life. Mourning is observed for 30 days after burial, very intensely so in the first seven days. Regular remembrances are performed in the years following the death on the anniversary of the loved ones passing.

This is the lifecycle that Yeshua (Jesus), Ya’akov (James), Shimon (Peter), Yahchanan (John), Sha’ul (Paul), Andreas (Andrew), Pinchus (Phillip), Matthias, Bartholomi (Bartholomew), Mattityahu (Matthew), Toma (Thomas), Ya’akov (James ben Alpheus), Shimon (Simon) the Zealot, Judas (Judah) ben Ya’akov, all lived each year throughout their lives.

It is so simple—if we want the same results as the 1st century Congregation—we must do what they did!!  Remember—there is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—so it is NEVER TOO LATE to start!!  Start your anointed lifecycle today!!
