Killing the Giant: How to Defeat Your Persistent Lustful Thoughts

Lust is one of –if not the greatest problem in the Congregations today.  I have Friends who are currently in the Pastorate, and having been a Congregational Rabbi myself, I can attest that more often than not—you will find the finest people in your ministry struggling with Lust—online Pornography—and the like.  In a recent survey of active leaders in the Church almost all of them admitted to struggling with inappropriate sexual relationships.  This is an epidemic in the Church that is so purveying and totally curable.

I, like many of you struggled in my early adult life with these struggles and it was not until my wife intervened that I was finally set free.  There are so many men who come up to me after I preach or teach somewhere and they say “Rabbi, please pray for me to be rid of the sexual thoughts I have been having” OR “Pastor, I am using pornography on the Internet and I don’t know how to stop—please pray for me.”  As an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, hearing any man or woman make this request is one of the hardest things to hear—because it is obvious that the Spirit is willing, but the flesh of the person is alive and well and talking to them; and then they get under condemnation—they won’t tell anyone who can really help them and the problem continues until they are an utter spiritual wreck.

I had a man in my Congregation who was a Mental Health Professional with very advanced education.  He was funny—in fact, He used to call my office each morning and sing me songs that he made up that would be the goofiest little songs like “Its time to get up blessed man of God—wake up and walk in faith and power today and you will be blessed as you come and go…..” etc.  We will protect His identity, but we will call him Tom.[ not his real name]  Tom was also the head of our homeless food ministry—where we would go down and feed 400-500 junkies and street people BBQ hamburgers each week grilling them up on the down town street corner.  In a month we would feed thousands of people for certain.

Tom would come to altar week after week and seek forgiveness for sexual sins committed the week before; why?  Was He a bad person?  Was He a hopelessly lost individual??  No.  Tom had a problem that is shared by far too many of the Believers in the body of Messiah today.

The Apostles were facing a huge decision in what to do with the Gentiles who were being saved and converting to Judaism through their faith in Jesus.  These same former Gentiles knew nothing about Judaism—and nothing about the inner workings of how to walk out this life of a Christian amidst the larger Jewish Community.  And to be honest—no one knew what to do with them—so Ya’akov made a decision that is today known as the Jerusalem Codicil by Theologians; but rather than getting all wadded up in Theology and its definitions—lets stick to the core basics—so we can find out what the Jerusalem Codicil and Lust problems in the body of Messiah have in common—and more specifically, what the Jerusalem Codicil says that will set us all free if we will just follow its life giving instructions.

Now we know that as Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ—we have freedom to eat whatever we want because the Master said “It is not what goes into a Man’s mouth that makes Him unclean—but what comes out of it.”  So, we know you can eat whatever you want.  However, is everything we eat—good for us—and providing us with life—or is it binding us to the realm of death?  Because how we answer that question will dictate how we can be free of our lust problem.

As a Human, we are only supposed to take into our body flesh, plant and animal that we can break down through the Amino Acid denaturization process.  Our body—which is fearfully and wonderfully made—then extracts the base nutrients from our meats and proteins and our vegetables and our body disposes of the rest.  It is perfect system of nutrition –and supply designed by the Lord Yshua Messiah to function for the pleasure and blessing of Man.

Blood is an interesting substance; made up of many differing proteins and other chemicals, this blood contains the DNA and RNA—the very building blocks of life itself.  A Man’s DNA and RNA are different than the DNA of a Carrot—or a Fish—or an Animal of any kind.  We are different—and this is why God tells the Israelites in Leviticus 2:13 which says “And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.”

Now the Great Sages of Judaism interpreted this to mean that the Priests of God should eat no meat that had not first been soaked in a solution of Sea Salt and Water—to prevent the Priests of the Living God from breaking yet another commandment:

“Deu 12:23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.”

It actually says "Do Not Eat Blood"  7 more times in the Torah, but I want you to see this very important part of the command of the Lord where God says “FOR THE BLOOD IS THE LIFE” meaning that located in the blood of the Animal and Human—or anything with blood—is the DNA and the RNA for THAT SPECIFIC CREATURE.  A Man’s RNA and DNA is not the same as that of the Cow or even worse—the Pig.  The Blood contains the building blocks for the BEHAVIOR AND CHARACTERISTICS of that specific being.  So now let’s take a look back to the Apostles critical ruling called the Jerusalem Codicil:

Acts 15:19-20 says “19 It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.  20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

Now when my Father TOLD me something, it was definitely different in its consequences—than when He “Suggested” something.  A Suggestion is optional—to be consider…..BUT….TELLING someone is CRITICAL INFORMATION TO BE FOLLOWED STRICTLY and not be considered; the consequences of the two are completely different.

James and the ruling Bet Din –Jewish Rabbinical Court in Jerusalem—made up of James—the Brother of Jesus, Peter—the Rock and John—the Priest of God walked with Jesus—saw what He did and did not do—and knew exactly what was to be taught to the Gentiles who were converting and following Jesus.  They tell us specifically—DO NOT EAT BLOOD!  Why?  Because the blood of the cow that you are eating is PROGRAMMING YOUR DNA and RNA in how to act; and how do Cows act?  They EAT and they SLEEP and they PROCREATE—for this is what a beast does.  So when you take on the blood of an animal—that is imbedded in your Hamburger—your favorite lean Steak—or your Chicken or any other animal that you eat—you are taking on their lifestyle. 

So you will eat a wonderful London Broil—like we had last night, and then you will be at work and suddenly a pop-up happens on your office computer and the next thing you know you are looking at Pornography on the internet; or you are in the shower fantasizing about the “Flavor of the week” Actress that you watched on TV last night.  THEN CONDEMNATION SETS IN—and you cannot fight against it—because you know the verse that says “There is therefore now no condemnation for those in Messiah Yeshua”—EXCEPT—you don’t feel like naming that—and claiming that—because you know your secret thoughts.  Then you end up defeated and trapped by the Enemy of God—and all because we skipped a simple step in food preparation that would set you free forever.  THIS IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY PREVENTABLE IF WE WOULD JUST TEACH AND OBEY ACTS 15:20!!

You are not meant to eat rare steak—I used to and I struggled horribly—as did my assistant.  But you do not have to struggle a single day longer.  If you stop eating the blood that is trapped in the tissues of the animals that you consume for dinner each night—then you will be free forever.  For whom the Son has set free is free indeed—and this means from being tormented with sexual perversion and pornography addictions.

It is simple, purchase a medium size Tupperware style Tub—and get a Bottle of Morton’s Kosher Salt.  Fill the Tub with cold water and put your meat in the water with a great deal of the Kosher Salt. Don’t worry about the Sodium content—because it will all wash off.  Soak this meat—Just like the Levite Priests used to do, for 30 minutes before dinner.  You will be simply amazed by the amount of blood that the Kosher Salt draws out.  Then dump the blood stained water down the sink—rinse off your meat and prepare it as you always have.  For hamburger—use a Colander with small holes and put the Hamburger in the Colander and drop it into the Kosher Salt and Water solution.

Ladies—this will keep your Man’s eyes within his own home and will free your teenager boys and girls from years of mental torture that the Lord Jesus Christ never intended them to suffer through.

If you don’t have time to soak the meat—try purchasing Kosher Meat—if you are in a Hurry.  And if you eat out—skip the places that prepare their meat on a flat grill like McDonalds—and opt for places that use a flame broil like Burger King.  Processed Deli Meat has nitrates and other all natural preservatives that will protect you from ingesting blood.

If you will do this faithfully for 90 days—you will be able to see a huge change in your thought life.  Stop the shame, and obey the New Testament instructions for life by just following these simple procedures and you will be free.  You will find that your fighting at home will reduce as well and many other wonderful benefits of “eating for life.”  Try eating for life for the next 90 days and watch God bring restoration to your health, body and life.
